Roll call for flakers
Question:
>Hi group, >Let’s start one of these:
Name Frank age 34 First P 18 (genital — what a bummer) First PA 25 (gone at 32 in conjuction with food poisoning of all things!) Family maternal GM had "exzema" — ya right. Onset: beats the snot out me why Works fer me: occluded Ultravate works for a few days. Despite the hell I’m going through with TAZ, it may actually be working. Worst: 20 % now Best: age 17 (see above) its never gotten better, just steadily worse.
Response:
Name: Desirie Age: 28 First noticed I had P: age 5 Family P: Grandfather, my son, age 5 onset at 3 1/2(One spot on each elbow and one on scalp- so far with fingers crossed Onset of P: after chicken pox Works for me: UVA, natural sunlight is best, still searching for the "right" topical Worst P: guttate type, hard to estimate percentage – 25%??? Best P: clear during pregnancy
Response:
Name: Chris Age: 23 First noticed I had P: age 18 Family P: None that anyone has admitted. Onset of P: Going to college full-time, working as a paramedic (EMT) full- time, all at the same time (among other things). Started as a pinpoint extremely itchy spot just above the hairline above the forehead. Works fer me: Sun, working out, leaving it ALONE (which is hard to do, and why I think working out helps), being happy/comfortable in my personal life works wonders. Sticking with the same shampoo and conditioner for spots on the head…for some reason switching brands upsets it, but it evens out once it adjusts. Stuff I’ve tried: Topicort, Psorcon, Tetracycline, Amoxicillin, Erythromycin, Anti-Fungals, Various Coal Tars, T-Sal and other medicated shampoos, Vitamins E, B, D and others, Colloidal Oatmeal, Vinegar Compresses, UVB, blah, blah enough already, I quit!!! Worst P: 15% coverage (using rule of nines) Best P: 2% Which was two years ago.
Response:

Uh, OK… Name: Steve Age: 36 First noticed I had P: age 13 Family P: Maternal cousin on fingernails only. Father on face and possibly elsewhere in a very mild form. Newest neice has had it very badly from birth. Onset of P: haven’t the foggiest idea Works fer me: B-vitamins, Folic acid, tar stuff, steroids – but I keep treatments to a minimum. Rather too busy to be able to do it. Worst P: 40% coverage Best P: Spent 4 weeks without any P once after hospitalisation on an experimental short-contact therapy. Didn’t take long to come back to 30/40% standing level.
