hhmm. Dunno what to say. Any doctor who is open to complementary therapies is worth talking to, IMO, but I would steer clear of a doctor who makes claims about the efficacy of treatments that have yet to be properly tested. My RD was dead set against any kind of treatment other than drug therapy. I had to beg and be in tears before he would prescribe simple physical therapy to help with the symptoms. Because I was more open than he was to considering alternative therapy, I dumped him. I went back to my family practice doc, and together we designed a plan that incorporated drug treatment (NSAIDs) regular monitoring (blood tests and hemographs for gastric bleeding), exercise, regular follow-ups with an RD (a different one), and complementary therapy (chiropractic). The new regimen has been working much better for me. BTW that micro-current therapy has been somewhat effective for me. I see a PT who administers it using an Accuscope. It seems to have value for me only because it seems to encourage muscle relaxation that lasts for a few days. TENS may have the same relaxing effect, but the effect seems to end when you turn off the TENS unit. Accupulse seems to have a longer-lasting relaxing effect. It was beneficial for my secondary FMS and migraines. Regards, Christine

Has anyone tried AND had any success using a combination of Dr.’s for RA? Everyone (friends, family, strangers <G>) want me to see Dr.’s other than my RD. One Dr. who is  highly reccommended practices both conventional medicine and "complimentary" medicine. ("Complimentary" as in working with your RD as opposed to complimentary as in free) He uses natural (homeopath?) substances and Micro-current Physical Therapy. (Not TENS) If anyone has any suggestions whether this is a possible path to follow-I’d love to hear from you. Thanks, KAT
