Why not get a blood glucose meter and find out?

No, licorice shouldn’t raise your blood sugar. Check medline for more info on liccorice: http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/entrez/query.fcgi?CMD=&DB=PubMed But liccorice can cause potassium loss, so it is very important to montor your blood pressure if you are going to use it frequently and/or in large amounts. Also be sure to eat lots of potassium-rich foods (spinach and other leafy greens, celery, mushrooms, asparagus, tomatoes, bell peppers, apricots, strawberries, kiwis, and peaches) and avoid sodium-rich ones if you continue to use it. –Munchkin

Yes a chiropractor can order the appropriate lab studies to diagnose hypoglycemia. My opinion is that the AK technique can no more accurately diagnose hypoglycemia than a complete patient history. As soon as I made this statement there will be numerous DCs who will argue that the AK technique can accurately diagnose hypoglycemia. — Rollie Pollie

Can such conditions be reliably diagnosed through applied kinesiology or other chiropractic techniques?

Hi! I have hypoglycemia and the only sweetner I use is Stevia(I can’t tolerate sugars). Anyway,I just made a cup of Licorice root tea for the first time, and it’s so sweet! Does anyone know if it will raise my blood sugar level or is safe to eat like Stevia? I know that it will raise my blood pressure, but that’s okay because I have low blood pressure. Thanks! Lynne
