Has anyone tried a tens unit?
Question:
Joy: I started renting one in May. (The insurance company started renting it – now it is paid for – I can keep it.) It is VERY HELPFUL on bad days. I’ll wear it while working at my desk sometimes, or will put it on at night and let it run for an hour. Martin I had to suggest it to my doctor and go through physical therapy to get it. LOVE AND BLESSINGS
Response:
p.s. Sorry for posting my reply a million times. my ISP had problems over the weekend……. Martin

I have had the same results as RoryDog since my surgery last year. Before the surgery it worked pretty well on bad days.
Response:
Glad it is working for you.

I have used a variety of TENS units over the years. I have found that they *can* help, but I seemed to get used to it after a while & the effect was less and less. Definately worth a try though. D

I tried TENS about 5 years ago (prescribed by doc, through PT), and had some benefit from it at first. Over time (a few months), it actually seemed to cause more pain than it helped (sort of irritated the muscles too much) – I have spasming muscles in my upper back from cervical spo ndylosis. I also had great difficulty getting electrodes of any kind to stay put between the hair I have on my body and my tendency to sweat. Given those things, it didn’t work out for me, but I have known others that got great help from TENS for long periods of time. RoryDog
