leg pains in 4 year old…
Question:
>>> >My daughter has been complaining lately of leg pains, especially at night. >> >Could these "growing pains" start this early? Thought they started around >> >7 or 8 years old. Any help is appreciated.
My daughter was 5 years old when she began having "growing pains". Just a good leg massage, concentrating in the knee area, with a little "magic lotion" helped her quite a bit!
Response:
My son just turned 3 when he started suffering from growing pains in his legs. Doctor recommend a liquid calcium supplement, and it worked!

Pains in the legs can also be a sign of a dairy sensitivity. "Is this your chold" by Dr. Doris Rapp addresses this problem.

My pediatrician said that if kids complaind mainly at night, they wereprobably growing pains and were nothing serious. If kids complained during the day when they would normally be distracted by other activities then the cause of the pains should bechecked out – just a rough rule of thumb to go by.

Hi, My first son, Ian, has gotten growing pains since he was less than 2 years old. At first we thought something might be seriously wrong, but his peditritian decided after numerous tests that it looked like just growing pains and to just keep an eye on him as he grows. Kellie

My son Alex had the same problem with leg pain from the time he was about 18 months. After trying everything else, and getting tired of hearing the words ‘growing pains’ I tried the last thing I could think of. I took him to a chiropractor. After a few weeks of very gentle adjustments to his hips, the pains were gone. Shelisa
Response:
My daughter started with the growing pains around 4. My husband said he had them that early and suffered with them for a long time. Your daughter may be having growing pains, but I also agree with the banana a day theory. However, my daughter always needed something to counter-act the banana such as raisins, anything to keep her from getting constipated from all the bananas. Just a thought! Dawn (Taylor and Mackenzie’s mom)
Response:
Maybe growing pains, but maybe she’s not getting enough potassium. Have her eat a banana a day and ask your doctor about it on your next visit. sasha – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text – > My daughter has been complaining lately of leg pains, especially at night. > Could these "growing pains" start this early? I could have sworn my siblings got theirs around 5 or 6. Not quite sure. Maybe she has shin splints? Those seem to be quite common with adults (but then, I’m in the Navy, go fig hehe) Z
