Quackwatch is a For-Profit Corporation

Categories: Chiropractor

Question:

For those who may have missed it, here is a repost of my Dec. 2 response from the State of Pennsylvania: "In August 1999, you sent an e-mail to the PA Bureau of Charitable Organizations inquiring about Quackwatch.  Subsequently, the Bureau corresponded with the organization and determined that Quackwatch is a for-profit entity that sells books and does not solicit charitable contributions.  Since Quackwatch does not solicit contributions from PA residents, it is not required to register with the Bureau.  You may want to contact Quackwatch directly with any questions you may have concerning its operations.  Thank you for your interest in the Bureau’s website." PA Bureau of Charitable Organizations I can’t help but wonder where, if anywhere, they have disclosed their financial reports. — Over 85 articles (and hundreds of scientific references) on nutritional therapeutics posted at http://www.doctoryourself.com ; still more at http://www.vitamincfoundation.org  http://www.cforyourself.com http://www.orthomed.com  http://www.orthomed.org Before you buy.

Ask A Fox, he’s an expert at finding information on just about anything. :o )   If you have knowledge of a better website out there to warn people about the quacks and charlatans on the internet I’d love to hear about it. Or do you believe that 100% of the MLMers and other salespeople out there are all legitimate and are selling PROVEN cures? — Carol Before buying any health care products on the net see: http://www.quackwatch.com

Response:

Quackwatch offers some valuable advice thoroughly mixed with erroneous conclusions.  For a science-promoting site, remarkably little science supports their sweeping conclusions that: * entire alternative-health publishing companies should be shut down * practically all chiropractors are frauds * all naturopaths, including Michael Murray, ND, are charlatans * physicians such as Abram Hoffer, MD; Andrew Weil, MD; Deepack Chopra, MD; Jonathan Wright, MD; Julian Whittaker, MD and others, are all quacks For yet another MD’s second opinion on Quackwatch, take a look at http://www.demystify.com  There is a brief tale about how Quackwatch’s Stevie Barrett seems to decline debate. — Over 85 articles (and hundreds of scientific references) on nutritional therapeutics posted at http://www.doctoryourself.com ; still more at http://www.vitamincfoundation.org  http://www.cforyourself.com http://www.orthomed.com  http://www.orthomed.org – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text -> I can’t help but wonder where, if anywhere, they have disclosed their > financial reports. > Ask A Fox, he’s an expert at finding information on just about anything. > :o )   If you have knowledge of a better website out there to warn people > about the quacks and charlatans on the internet I’d love to hear about it. > Or do you believe that 100% of the MLMers and other salespeople out there > are all legitimate and are selling PROVEN cures? > — > Carol > Before buying any health care products on the net see: > http://www.quackwatch.com
